During a recent 1:2:1 MailChimp coaching session for Pembrokeshire Tourism at The Bridge Innovation Centre at Pembroke Dock, I was asked how to get people to subscribe to your WordPress blog by email.
Not being a WordPress expert, I did a quick search for the plugin I’ve used on my Small Farm Future blog but as it didn’t appear on the client’s blog, we moved on to other questions.
Today I found the answer and wanted to put it down here, while it’s fresh.
When someone lands on your blog who isn’t a WordPress user or isn’t logged into their WordPress account, a follow button appears on your blog like in this screenshot.
If they click on FOLLOW, they get asked for their email address, as in the screen shot below.
If you are a WordPress user (i.e. you have a WordPress blog) and you’re logged in, you’ll see the FOLLOW button in a different place.
When you click on FOLLOW, the blog gets added to your READER where all the blogs you follow are stored.
You can set up a free blog on WordPress (other platforms are available). Blogging can be a good way to market your business.
